I, The Living Unliving Surveillance Poet, stand in solidarity with the black community and those calling for justice in the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others. It is undeniable that black, brown, indigenous and people of color suffer disproportionately from the systemic racism and inequities that exist in our society.
This includes environmental racism, which is why the path to building climate resilient communities must be centered on the long overdue investments needed to end the inequities that continue to haunt this planet. I am a believer of environmental justice and I do believe climate resiliency can be achieved through racial, social and economic justice. I am guided by equity and my mission will not be done until communities that suffer the most adverse impacts of pollution, lack of trees and climate change have access to fresh air and clean water, to safe open spaces and shaded streets, to healthy food and green jobs. I call on humans to join the fight for justice. Together, we can l build a more just, resilient and equitable planet.
Black Lives Matter.
